THE WILDERNESS Outdoor Education Centre at Plump Hill, Mitcheldean welcomed nearly 300 people on Sunday (April 17) for an open day.

The day had an Anglo-Saxon theme, with workshops looking at clothing, homes, food, drink and feasting. Twilight Realms ran a series of forest-themed live action role play (LARP) adventures for children.

Manager Deborah Blackmore says: “Live action fantasy promotes team work, problem solving, social interaction and imagination, all based in a fantasy medieval world. We also had sword fighting on offer from LARP INN, who supply costumes and weapons.”

The centre also ran crate stacking and tunnel activities for children during the day.

The Wilderness Centre offers residential and day courses for schools. Contact 01594 542567 for more information.
