LYDNEY rugby fans will take heart from the Severnsiders' improved form in defeating Harrogate 21-16 at Regentsholme last Saturday.
There were periods of excellent play from Lydney with sharper handling and improved ball retention.
They scored tries through Darren Oxley, Ross Armstrong and Jimmy Roberts with Lee Osborne kicking two penalty goals.
Coach Ian Seymour will be calling for more of the same at Birmingham this Saturday.
It will be a tough encounter for Lydney against the team in second place and boasting a massive squad of players, many with top class experience. Backed by a major sponsorship deal with a communications company Birmingham even offer a magnum of champagne for the man-of-the-match who can come from either team.
