THE Dean Forest Railway in conjunction with the Review is pleased to offer two family tickets for its Day out with Thomas event on either Friday (August 19), Saturday (August 20) or Sunday (August 21).

Thomas will be visiting the railway from the island of Sodor and, as a really useful engine, will be helping the Fat Controller to keep things in order.

The Dean Forest Railway itself can be found at Norchard, just to the north of Lydney, and the gates open at 9.30am with Thomas on view from 9.45am.

Included in the ticket price are three train rides, including brake van rides with Thomas and a certificate for all children, the main steam train ride and a trip into the Forest on Daisy the Diesel with a themed 'Thomas' story.

Facepainters, Punch and Judy, a miniature railway, roundabout, live re-enactments, Thomas colouring, desktop toys, stickers, stories, videos and temporary tattoos are all available – just try and fit it all in!

And, as a special surprise for this event, 'Wilbert the Forest Engine' may be appearing following a lengthy restoration.

'Wilbert' features in Book 38 of the Thomas the Tank Engine stories, but his appearance depends on completion of final repairs.

Entry is available either on the day, or you can save money by booking in advance online via the railway's website http://www.dfr.co.uk">www.dfr.co.uk
