ORGANISERS of the re-scheduled Woolaston Carnival picked one of the few dry days this summer for the annual celebration.

The original event in May was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and last weekend's event combined the carnival with Woolaston School's summer fair.

Carnival Queen Jasmine Jones and attendants Katie D'Andrea and Danielle Thompson paraded around the village under blue skies in a carriage driven by Maggie Saunders and groom Sheila Harris.

There were colourful floats from Woolaston School under-fives, the village Brownies and the school marked its 150th anniversary.

Gail Thompson, one of the organisers, said: "It was a very successful afternoon and we've had some really positive feedback."
