A YOUNG wife and husband team who set up an art work business five months ago have achieved international success.

Rebecca and Daniel Adams, of Worrall Hill, said that since they started creating personalised photoframes for people in April they have been inundated with orders and have achieved nearly 10,000 likes on Facebook.

The 28-year-old mum-of-two, said: "People have gone mad for our work, I never imagined for one minute we would receive the amount of attention we have – it's fantastic. I first dabbled in bespoke art work two years ago when I gave them as gifts to people on our wedding day, I didn't think any more of it and stopped doing it.

"But last November, I gave birth to my second son at Abergavanny Hospital and he was taken straight away to the special care baby unit where he spent more than a week being treated for an internal infection and respiratory problems. The staff basically saved his life. At that time, I needed something to take my mind off the heartbreak of seeing my newborn son ill, so I decided to design bespoke artwork for my friends and they turned around and said I should start up a business.

"I didn't think I would get any interest but in April I set up a Facebook page called Framed forget me nots and created a website. In that weekend I had 6,000 likes. I was starting to get lots of interest and orders and thought it would be worth a try going self-employed, so I didn't return to the job I had before I went on maternity leave. Not long after we were shipping orders to Afghanistan, Iraq and New Zealand and picked up more orders from word-of-mouth. I am fully booked up until 2015 and am easily turning away 50 orders a day because we can't cope with demand. My husband and I are juggling family life and working from 6am in the morning right through to 2am the next. We have hired staff but are now looking to expand our work force and buy a shop – it's relentless but great.

"I think what makes us different from other bespoke artists is where they might use templates and computer programs, we have a blank canvas and design every word.

"We recently did a charity night where I sold my artwork on Facebook to raise money for the unit my son was treated in and raised £1,500. It is lovely to give something back to the hospital and we are continuing to do more fundraising in the future."
