CHIEF Superintendent Ann Peters who lives at Penallt near Monmouth and works for Avon and Somerset Police was awarded an MBE for services to policing. Can someone explain to me how a police chief superintendent on a very good salary from her police force gets an MBE for services to policing when it is something she gets paid to do? No matter what she has done that is special she is still a police officer and that should be part of her work as such. I have known of many people who have been given honours for doing work that they are paid to do. It is wrong because the honours should go to the people who really deserve the praise. – Janet Pennock, Ruardean Woodside.
Worthy honour?
