THE scaffolding has been removed from the outside of Monmouth's historic Drybridge House to reveal the full extent of its facelift.

What isn't revealed is the work that has been going on to restore the ground floor of the community centre, which will be available for hire by the public for meetings, conferences and functions.

Now on Saturday, November 30, the community centre is having an open day to reveal progress so far. Everyone is invited and visitors will be able to look round the ground floor of the old house – though the rooms still need finishing touches such as decorations and paint.

Companies and individuals have been invited to donate towards the decoration by supplying anything from a can of paint to a roll of carpet.

"That way everyone can play a part in the revitalisation of one of Monmouth's most significant buildings," said a spokesperson, adding that details of how people can help will be available at the open day.

"Don't miss the opportunity – come along on November 30 between 10am and noon to have a look around," she urged.
