SIX young pupils from The Nicola Moran Academy of Drama based at the Courtfield Arms in Lydbrook entered The Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts.
Reciting poetry in the speech and drama category, Erlina Ainsworth and Eloise Smith received a distinction with 82 per cent and the other four, who entered as duets, Lucy Moran and Isla Corbijn, and Finn Corbijn and Harrison Ablett, came home with both bronze and silver medals.
The girls came third with a mark of 87 per cent and the boys came second with 89 per cent, narrowly missing out on gold by 1 per cent!
It was their first time at entering and as the children's ages ranged from 6-8 they were forced to enter the very competitive class of 11 and under.
The Nicola Moran Academy of Drama is for children of six years and over and they meet on a Wednesday from 4pm-5.30pm at the Courtfield. They will be performing their first musical, 'Tanya the Tooth Fairy,' at Lydbrook Memorial Hall on Wednesday June 13 at 4pm. Contact Nicola on 01594 862952 for details.
