A CHEPSTOW man accepted a bet and raised £850 for Macmillian Cancer support in the process recently.

Steve Ward, who lives in Bulwark and works in Avonmouth. His wife Sue said: “One of Steve’s work colleagues at SGB Scaffolding, Chis Ward, said that if Steve shaved all his hair off he’d give him £100.

“He asked thinking that Steve wouldn’t do it, so he called Chris’s bluff and decided that he would see if anyone else would sponsor him.

“Steve decided to raise the money for Macmillian as they were so supportive when his stepmother Margaret Vickery was diagnosed with cancer. She sadly died last year after fighting cancer for the third time.

“I am so proud of how much money he raised and would like to thank everyone who sponsored him.”

Steve’s colleagues shaved most of his hair off, but Sue added: “it looked bad so I finished it for him.”
