CHEPSTOW Harrier Brenda Avery has retained the Welsh Athletics 'Run Wales 2014 Series' Women's Masters 55-64 champion.

The 64-year-old received confirmation at the end of year presentation in Cardiff.

The competition is open to all Welsh registered athletes and is run across twelve races throughout the year of which the best five scores for each athlete count.

Brenda beat off all others in her age group to retain the title despite an extended period of injury during the 2014 season, just missed out on a top-ten placing overall.
