EIGHT Drybrook girls played a vital role in the International Rugby Board's world sevens tournament at Twickenham on Saturday.

They were selected as ball girls for nine of the 18 qualifying women's internationals including the England v South Africa match. England went on to win the tournament and included in their squad ex Drybrook player Natasha 'Mo' Hunt.

A coach full of Drybrook girls made the trip to London for what they described as a fantastic day out. The ball girls had been trained by another ex Drybrook player, Ceri Large, who is currently in Italy playing for England in the European Cup.

The Twickenham trip rounded off a great season for the Drybrook club.

They now have over 40 girls playing rugby and are to continue to train throughout the summer. The theme will be fun and fitness and all girls are welcome to join in the free fun sessions held at the club from 6pm until 7.30pm on Wednesdays.
