NEWENT'S Green Army emerged comfortable winners of the RFU's Junior Vase at Twickenham to cap the perfect season.
Just hours later Drybrook failed narrowly to make it a Forest double at rugby HQ in the Senior Vase.
Newent, who were undefeated all season, won 58-29 at a canter against Yorkshire side Baildon.
In the Senior Vase Drybrook came up just short against Selby losing 29-25.
The centre of Newent came to a standstill on Friday morning as the town turned out to wave off the local heroes.
The town has been swathed in green and yellow to wish the boys luck and prizes were awarded to the best window displays.
A Jelly Baby rugby game in the window of Sweet Memories in Broad Street was judged to be the best.
Pupils from local schools were on hand to give the team a big cheer as the coach left the centre of the town for the journey to Twickenham.
