A GOAL a few minutes from time salvaged a point for the visitors in a lively game at Beachley.

The home side were weakened by the unavailability of several players.

Bream got onto the scoresheet first but Sedbury cancelled out the advantage and got their noses in front before being pulled back at the end.

Sedbury had been on a useful run which had seen them climb into fifth in the Whitehouse Press North Glos Premier.

Ironically, a key to recent success has been the demise of United's second string.

Manager Duane McEwen explained: "We dropped the seconds for financial reasons.

"It's meant that older players who were in their comfort zone in the seconds have become available for the first team and they have stepped up to the plate."

Sedbury are currently fifth but have played more games than several of the teams around them.

Duane added: "This is only our second season in the premier and we finished ninth last year so we're aiming to finish above that this year."
