NEWENT RFC fans are bracing themselves for an exciting game this weekend as the senior vase team return to Twickenham to take on Yarnbury.

The Gloucester Premier Division champions prospered to book a final with West Yorkshire outfit Yarnbury this Sunday (May 4) at 1pm - just a season after winning the junior vase against Baildon.

Councillor Norman Stephens, Chairman of the Forest of Dean District Council said: "Myself, the members and staff of the District Council send their best wishes to Newent RFC and wish them good luck for their forthcoming match in the National Senior Vase final against Yarnbury at Twickenham this weekend. This is another proud moment for Forest rugby."
