THERE was no ground advantage here... Puma share facilities with Worrall Hill so this really was the most local of derby games! Fitting, however, it was listed as Puma's home game and they took advantage to reverse an early season meeting between the teams when Worrall Hill called the tune.

Though officially Cinderford-based, Puma have wandered the Forest, the First X1 sharing at Worrall Hill and the Second X1 playing at Ruardean. Last season Puma played at Cinderford Town's Causeway ground.

"Our players are mainly from Cinderford and Ruardean and we train at Ruardean Rec in the summer," says leading goal-scorer Phillip Brookes.

Presently in midtable, Brookes says Puma's squad of young players have enjoyed an in and out season, winning one week, losing the next.

The problem, says player-manager Jason Boulton, is fielding a settled team. "With everyone available we are pretty strong and have had some good results. It's my first season in charge and I have been pleased with some of the results, especially away from home," he said.

All three Puma goals came in the second-half. Chris Naylor scoring first followed by Jordan Hyndman and then Naylor again.

Brookes says the return of Naylor has given the club a boost. "He's a constant threat in front of goal and good in the air. He makes a lot of chances for me but I'm going to have to work on a plan to stop him catching me up," jokes Brookes.
