IT'S a tall order, but if Rangers can win their four remaining games then Senior League football will return to the highest pitch in the Forest of Dean next season.

Heart rates are increasing as the tempo rises for a dramatic final month. If things go to plan the showdown could be on the very last Saturday when Rangers have to visit Milkwall. And what a game that could be!

Milkwall, who top the league, are the only team to defeat Rangers this season.

"We need to win all four games to be certain of going up and we know Milkwall will be the toughest challenge. They beat us early in the season but we have improved a lot since then," says Rangers official Stan Harris.

But there some stiff challenges to face before the Milkwall game.

"It's a question of keeping our nerve. But Adie Cole has done a great job as manager. He has stuck by his instincts when it comes to selecting the team. There is a good mix of experienced and young players and, if they stick together, the chance of a really good side in the future," he said.

Young players have been setting the goal-scoring pace this season and chief among them is striker Luke Johnson who has netted no less than 25 times. The former Cinderford Town player was once on Bristol City's books but now plays at Ruardean Hill only a short distance from his home.

"He's not a big player but he has the golden asset of real pace and opponents find him a handful," said Stan.

Another Luke, midfielder Luke Brown, is also a player to watch. Formerly with Lydney Town, Brown is a good player and a real talent.

Stan adds: "You could really name all the squad. Adie has got the best out of them and their success is down to a real team effort."

Among the more established players he says centre-half Dave Walding has enjoyed a solid season while Richard Creed and Brian Burke have been excellent.
