LYDNEY Town's inability to close down games again cost them dearly but at least they came away with a point.

The club's third side came from behind to be lead 2-1 at one point only to see fifth-placed Yorkley grab a point.

Manager Jeremy Probert says results not performances have been the problem this season for his inexperienced and constantly changing side.

He said: "We came from behind and went 2-1 up and from there we should have moved on and finished off the game but we allowed Yorkley to come back – that has been the story of our season.

"I can't fault the performances, everyone gives 100 per cent, but too often we've been up at half-time or going into the last half hour and we've lost.

"A lot of the teams we've played have said we don't play like a team that is bottom of the table.

"As manager of the third team I'm very dependent on who is available after the firsts and seconds have made their selections.

"Other teams have settled sides but I don't know who I'm going to have."

The draw against Yorkley is actually the second of the season but the first was taken away after the side inadvertently fielded an ineligible player.

Scott Burrows equalised for the home side and Harry Williams put them ahead before the game was squared.

Jeremy said: "We thought we had a blatant penalty but while our players were still talking about it, they went and scored."
