It was a triple success for three young Forest gymnasts at the Gloucestershire, Bristol and Avon NDP Grade Six and Five which were held at the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Centre in Berry Hill.

In their first grades competition, Holly Weal, Eden Rawlings and Katie Pugh represented the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club at Grade Six, which had a large field of 39 competitors.

Holly was one of only six gymnasts to be awarded distinction.

To achieve this, the gymnasts had to score 60.00.

Holly scored 60.80 and was placed fourth overall.

Ever cheerful, she gave confident performances all round with a third place on bars, seventh on floor and eighth on range and conditioning.

Eden and Katie were both awarded highly commended with both narrowly missing distinction,

Eden was just 0.9 of a mark off the accolade with a final score of 59.10.

She came second on Range and conditioning and eighth on floor giving strong performances all round.

Katie performed a strong vault to come fourth with 13.50 out of a possible 14.00. She then followed this with a strong bar routine where she came sixth.

Her final total was 58.20.

All the girls are members of the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club’s mini development squad.

Competitors came from nine clubs from across Gloucestershire and Bristol.
