AT?THE risk of pre-empting my colleague, Richard Leppington, I would remind Ruth Purcell that, at their inception, all political parties formed in the 19th centuries were 'protest parties'.

The biggest change to the Conservative Party came about in 1970 or thereabouts, when the treacherous Heath won the General Election. Our entry into the EEC as it was then, was not 'determined by experts' although it did 'involve a great deal of money'. That means 'our money', and we have been bled white by this corrupt organisation, whose own auditors have refused to sign off the accounts for 14 years because of 'irregularities'.

Also we joined this area of high unemployment, and we have had this situation since joining. If the UK does not quit the EU, this country's ills will continue.

The EEC as it was called was always meant to be a political union, as Monnet, Delors and other founding members admitted, and Heath deceived the British people by blatantly lying to conceal this intention.

As for 'we would be on our own' this is the argument of the wretched Lib-Dems who would willingly sell this country down the river by joining the Euro. Of course, they were last in power before Ramsey McDonald, until the unprincipled Cameron formed an alliance with them, contrary to the wishes of the electorate.

By leaving, we would be like Norway, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, India, South Korea and others who are trading within world markets for the benefit of their respective countries, whereas our wealth, what little we have left, is channelled into the bottomless bucket of EU financial corruption, This country should not fear being on our own (which is rubbush). After all, it would not be the first time.
