I SEE that the council cabal have ousted Venk Shenoi, hiding behind the shield of 'cuts' and 'efficiency.' I am not surprised, as he is far too intelligent and knowledgeable for his former compatriots. Certainly he has more credibility than the rest put together.
So now we are left with Peter Amos and his cosy coterie who meet behind closed doors and make decisions in private. They then confront our elected representatives on the basis of 'Here is what we have decided – kindly approve it.'
Thus we, the electorate, have been disenfranchised.
If cuts are necessary as Cllr Amos makes out, then there is within his clique a councillor with the pompous title of 'Councillor for an Efficient Control,' something straight out of Gilbert and Sullivan.
In the opinion of the Audit Commission, the Ombudsman, and many local organisations and people featured in this and other newspapers, the adjective 'efficient' is the most unlikely one that can be applied to this gang. Has the councillor, therefore, resigned in disgrace, or more appositely, been dismissed? Of course not, his being a paid-up member of 'The Clandestine Five.'
Suggestion – get rid of the Amos gang and keep Venk Shenoi. The Forest will be much better off. – Cy Roberts, Coalway.
