A48 DRIVERS who do not know our town must be confused to find that instead of being able to sail through a major route they are stopped by a series of bottlenecks.

From the Gloucester direction, problems start with the junction leading to Sedbury, grow worse at the lights adjacent to Tesco, get nearly impossible at the Bulwark turn on a blind bend halfway up a steep hill – and as if that is not enough, there is now a major new hotel promised for the top of the hill almost opposite a busy petrol station and store.

Add to that the dash-if-you-dare roundabout beyond and you have a joke rather than a modern well planned traffic system. The whole business needs a fresh look.
