Wyedean School has applied for 'acadamy' status as of September.
In a letter to parents and carers, headteacher, Clive Pemberton, writes: "We believe now that if Wyedean were to become an academy, there would be additional funding and additional freedoms. Because of this, the governors of the school have applied to the Secretary of State for Education for Wyedean to become an Academy on September 1 2011."
Views as parents and carers will be taken on board this Thursday (June 23) at 6.30pm.
