CHEPSTOW Cricket Club has won a major sponsorship deal from Newport-based recruitment specialists Acorn.

The Division One cricketers will be supported for the next three years by the firm, and say they are looking forward to the changes it will bring.

"With the rising costs of a community sports club, this three-year deal allows us to plan for the future and continue to provide outstanding facilities and coaching for young and old," said club chairman Bob Hepworth.

And Acorn's head of permanent recruitment Lewis Fawsitt added: "Chepstow Cricket Club and Acorn are similar in many ways, not least sharing a strong development and training ethos.

"The club offers excellent recreational facilities for both adults and children alike. We hope to build a good relationship with the club and I hope it continues for a long time to come."

Adrian Dale of Glamorgan and England A trained with the club, which continues to produce county and national level players including two selections for Wales this season.
