IT'S English Bicknor School and Church fete on Saturday July 9 (2pm) and aliens have already dropped in for the occasion!

Little (and large!) green men have been spotted at village road approaches.

"To make local people aware of the fete, for the last four years we have held a scarecrow competition," say the organisers.

"Locals build scarecrows and  place them in prominent positions with signs reminding passers by to come to the fete – and this year's theme is aliens and spaceships."

The fete will feature stalls and attractions including a display of birds of prey, dog agility, country dancing and a new addition this year – Baa Draughts (you have to check this out, advise the organisers). 

Music during the afternoon will be from Berry Hill Band.
