PUPILS at St John's School in Coleford undertook two projects, one of which saw them taking over the school!

During 'Upside-Down Day' they undertook all the running of the school with roles from head teacher to support staff members.

It provided a good insight into the problems hard working grown-ups have to face!

"The Year 6 children were fantastic during Upside-Down Day, taking their responsibilities very seriously and carrying out their respective jobs very professionally. Hopefully, the day may have inspired some of them to consider a future career in education, although I think some of them may have been put off by all the work involved!" said a school spokesman.

Everyone was treated to scones and cake for an'afternoon tea' break in the morning and a full English breakfast was offered for lunch.

A Victorian Day saw them with very different roles from the age of Charles Dickens – complete with the costumes of the day – in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the writer's birth.
