THE junction of Edge End Road and Mile End witnessed another dramatic accident on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said: “Police were called to an incident at 3.45pm in which a Gloucester woman in a Ford Mondeo collided with a Kia Karens driven by a man from South Gloucestershire.

“Paramedics were called as the Mondeo flipped on to its roof, but no serious injuries were reported and we believe that the Kia was driven away from the scene. An illuminated sign was damaged in the collision and the road was closed for a couple of hours.”

This is a notorious accident black spot: in April this year 22-year-old Lucy Vaughan was killed during a police chase. A 76-year-old woman died in a collision at the same junction in March.
