OFFICERS investigating a fatal collision near Staunton have identified potential witnesses and are asking them to come forward.
At around 2.20am on Tuesday, June 28 a fatal road traffic collision occurred between a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian on the A417.
The pedestrian, a 41-year-old local man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van, a 37-year-old man from the Newent area, was uninjured.
Police have reviewed CCTV within the area at the time and are appealing for the occupants in three vehicles to come forward.
Between 1.35am and 1.45am, a grey coloured 4x4 and two light coloured vans, possibly a Sherpa and a Ford Transit, were travelling in the area of the collision.
The drivers and passengers of these vehicles are urged to make contact with police as they may have vital information to help with enquiries. Call 101 quoting incident 37 of June 28.
