AUTHOR and humorist Andy Seed has moved to the Forest and says he has received a very friendly welcome.

Andy, who received the Blue Peter Best Book with Facts award in 2015 for The Silly Book of Side-Splitting Stuff, has moved to Blakeney to be near family.

He said: “There’s a real sense of community in the Forest which I like.”

The former primary school teacher is hoping to work with local schools helping children foster a love of books.

Many of his books for children are fact-based which particularly appeal to boys. His most popular book for adults is All Teachers Great and Small, a memoir of his time as a teacher.

He said: “As a former teacher I’m very keen on getting children to read and to enjoy reading.”

His latest book is the The Anti-Boredom Book of Brilliant Outdoor Things to Do which is illustrated by Scott Garrett.
