LIKE the writer of last week's excellent letter I am concerned that people are giving way to the temptation to feed the wild boar, without seeming to be aware of, or concerned about, the likely consequences.

It would help if there was a strong public  consensus against feeding them. The HOOF campaign was about this being 'our' Forest, and if that is true we all have to share responsibility for it's stewardship. Perhaps the next natural step needs to be a broadly based 'Hands ON Our Forest' campaign, in cooperation with the Forestry Commission, to promote responsible behaviour here.

'Please don't feed the wild boar' would seem to be a good place to start.
