RUMOURS that a newly-resurfaced road in Sedbury will be dug up to install electric ducts to a nearby solar park have been quashed.

Gloucestershire County Council says Beachley Road will remain open using temporary traffic lights between Monday, November 7 and Friday, December 9.

Green Energy International plan to close Sedbury Lane in sections from Monday, December 12 to Sunday, January 29.

Traders feared the newly-resurfaced road would be ’ripped up’ to dig a trench for cables to Tump Farm, but this has since been refuted.
