A 72-YEAR-OLD from Lydney was air lifted to Gloucester Royal Hospital on Saturday morning (July 6) after a motorbike struck her.

The woman who was walking on Hill Street in Lydney, suffered a head injury and cracked ribs after a black Kawasaki motorbike collided with her at 10.21am.

Police closed the road while an air ambulance landed in the Library car park and attended to the patient.

A spokesperson for South West Ambulance said: "We received a call at 10.21am and two rapid response vehicles plus an air ambulance attended the scene. One patient, a female in her mid-70's, was taken to Gloucester Royal Hospital. It is believed she was struck by a motorcycle."

A spokesman for Gloucestershire Police added: "A bike registered to a Lydney address collided with a 72-year-old pedestrian from Lydney. The motorcyclist sustained no life-threatening injuries and no arrests were made in relation to the collision."
