A BIKER was airlifted to hospital with potentially life changing injuries after colliding with a lampost.

The accident happened near the Pen y Parc nature walk and car park in St Arvans on Sunday morning, September 1, around 11.10am.

A Gwent Police spo- kesperson said: “We were called to reports that a motorcyclist had collided with a lamp post in the Devauden Road area.

“Emergency servi- ces attended and the 32-year-old male rider from the Bristol area has been airlifted to hospital with potentially life changing injuries.”

The road was closed while emergency services treated the rider.
