THE SEVENTH annual Hoggin' the Bridge charity bike ride takes place on Sunday October 21.

The bikes in Hoggin'the Bridge leave Aust Services at 11am and flow over the Severn Bridge and up the M48 to Magor and then onto Rogiet and Caldicot.

The first bikes are due to arrive in Chepstow town centre around noon and there will be music in Beaufort Square from 11am.

A spokeswoman for the event said: "Weather permitting, by the time the final bike is in Chepstow High Street every single car park will be full of bikes.

"Last year we even had to use the bus station as we ran out of space."

The line-up of bands this year is: Rusty Shackle, Got it Covered, Shooting the Crow, Simple Meerkatz and Major Tom.

Local musician Chris Lee, who has been organising the entertainment for the last two years, said: "All the bands have offered their services free this year and the stage has been sponsored by Petersen Safety Solutions which means Hoggin' the Bridge will have even more money to give away to local charities."

Last year £17,500 was distributed among local charities and Meningitis UK.
