A GREAT sponsored 136-mile round trip is being organised by Forest motorcyclists to raise funds for twin cystic fibrosis sufferers Harvey and Christy-Lee Soutter-Davies.

The ten-year-olds have to undergo a rigorous round of physiotherapy, drug treatment and exercise to make sure the genetic condition does not block up their lungs.

Christy-Lee and Harvey, who live at Harrow Hill, also have to ward off any number of complications that could set in, and colds and flu which are mildly disabling to most people can be quite dangerous.

The bikers plan to buy a rebounder trampoline for each of the twins – this will help enormously with exercise and will replace some of the physiotherapy sessions.

Any surplus funds collected from the event will be given to the family to go towards a much-needed holiday.

Organiser Vanessa Allen said: "I have known Harvey and Christy-Lee for only one year and I have already become very close to them. You would think that there is nothing wrong but having become so close I know this is far from the truth."

She said most of the twins' happiness was due to the efforts to help them lead as normal a life as possible.

The Cotswold Ride Out will take place on Sunday March 12, with riders meeting at Dean Motorcycle Training in the Enterprise Centre, Valley Road, Cinderford from 9.30am. Riders set out at about 11am.

The sponsorship entry fee is £5 per person and there will be a raffle for prizes donated by local motorcycle and gear suppliers.

There will also be a hot-dog van at the start so that anyone who has not had breakfast can stoke up!

Anybody who wants to join in or would like more details can contact Vanessa Allen on 01594 826333 or 825975.
