FORGET stretch limos and vintage buses, friends Bethany Mayo and Sadie Cook got a real flyer for their prom.

It took just five minutes to travel from Heywood School in Cinderford to the Forest Hills golf club in Coleford - by helicopter.

Pilot Bob Morgan is a friend of Bethany's brother and gave them a never-to-be-forgotten opportunity to arrive in style.

Bethany, who is going onto college to study hairdressing, said: "It was really great - it was the first time I've been in a helicopter and to have the opportunity was fantastic.

"It was a bit scary but well worth it - everything looks different from the air."

Sadie, who also hopes to become a hairdresser, added: "It was great, absolutely amazing and I'd love to do it again."

Among the other transport was a restored 1967 VW split screen camper.
