HAVING read the article on boar damage to gardens in your paper last week, I want to ask if it has not occurred to people that the start of complaints about this always coincide with the beginning of the ritual annual sacrifice of boar, which the Forestry Commission always makes. Exactly the same thing happened last year.
The gunshots in the deep forest drive the boar who have survived towards human settlements, where they feel safer. There are very few complaints in the summer months during the close season. This is another reason for leaving these animals alone.
