MORE than 30 bags full of booze have been confiscated from an unlicensed shop in Lydney after staff sold alcohol to a member of police staff.

Police seized a total of £5,000 worth of alcohol from the shop in Harrison Way as part of a planned operation with Forest of Dean District Council.

Forest Licensing Officer PC Duncan Sleeman said: "We take any breach of the licensing act very seriously.

"We filled 30 bags with the booze from the shop which was obviously time-consuming and I will now be interviewing the owner to decide what happens next."
