I AM writing about the problem of the bridges on the Minsterworth to Westbury-on-Severn road.

I think the bridges are worth keeping as they are a reminder of the old days on that road and are attractive as well as strong to stand up to the increase in traffic and the damage from accidents.

I travel to Gloucester and pass under a bridge in Tuffley that is similar. There are traffic lights at both ends and this slows the traffic and avoids collisions as there isn’t room for two-way traffic under the bridge.

It is not, however, as busy as the Westbury bridges and not really a lorry route but I have seen damage from a lorry.

I think traffic lights could help and that an alternative route for lorries would ease the problem.

Warning lights that flash could help and some kind of speed limit, slowing to 30mph or even 20 mph.

This is a very nice, scenic route and I hope that these suggestions might help.
