ON reading the letters and the one headed 'Disappearing acts', regarding the experiences of a Cinderford pensioner, this is the sort of treatment I have experienced in the last 12 months.
A builder was contracted to build an extension to my property. After approximately three months he left the work unfinished. Why? He would not give a reason.
But I believe he went due to a number of complaints about the poor workmanship I brought to his attention.
I have a surveyor's report on the work involved. It criticises the builder's work and does not make very good reading.
I had to arrange for other contractors to rectify and complete the build.
I would like to bring to the attention of the general public that one has to be very careful with notices that are displayed such as NHBC for example.
Unless the builder registers your work with NHBC then they have no power over the builder should you have a complaint.
