A GOOD number of people from the north part of the Forest stood around in the bitter cold last Tuesday morning in Cinderford Triangle, only to be told after 15 minutes that we were to go to the bus station.

No councillor or reporter was present.

I think everyone there had seen the proposal map which indicates, unacceptably, that a bus will pass the Dilke, cemetery, crematorium, Speech House, etc only every two hours, and that there will be no route past Brierley, just for starters.

Stagecoach is also taking on some minor routes but has not indicated how and where.

My friends from the villages around Ruardean Hill, Joys Green and Lydbrook fear being completely cut off.

People from Mitcheldean and Cinderford are also dissatisfied with services, but I am afraid that being crowded on to a bus and speaking individually to James O’Neill meant that much of what was said went unheard.

Apparently fewer young people are travelling by bus, as well as the oldies who are finding it more difficult to do so.

Tell the bus company your difficulties.

Get it interested in people before profits.

I want to urge as many of you as possible to get hold of, complete and post back the red Stagecoach Freepost leaflets.

Get some for friends, help others to write.

Do not think because you own a car and all the latest gadgets you will never need to use a bus.Look around!

Please get your councillors interested and see if you can get the support of your MP.
