MY hope is that the Review and local residents can help me.
My grandfather and other members of his family had to leave the beautiful Forest of Dean for work. They included his father, Robert Martin, and his great uncle, Joseph Martin.
They had lived in two separate houses at New Road, Old Furnace Bottom, Blakeney.
I am compiling a family tree and came across a photograph of the Martin family from Cinderford on the Forest of Dean family history website. Robert's brother had also lived in the Forest of Dean.
I know I may never know, but I am hoping some one may recognise the two bridesmaids on the left of this wedding photograph. I am sure they must be our ancestors. I am a spitting image of the one who is sat down and the bridesmaid behind her looks like my sister.
I have contacted the lady who submitted the photograph but sadly her aunt has died and there is no-one left in the family who can recognise them. My hope is that a Review reader can come to my rescue!
