DURING the current, and seemingly never-ending, electricity road works on Bream Road in Lydney there are some carefully positioned traffic lights.
I say carefully positioned because the ‘stop here’ warning sign at the south end of the works is located clear of the entrance to Stanford Road enabling those of us who live in Stanford Road to actually get out onto Bream Road.
An amazing number of drivers totally ignore the sign and stop at the lights themselves, thus totally blocking off Stanford for people entering or leaving.
The letters on the sign are a foot high and they’re painted in white on red, surely that MUST be visible enough? The only conclusion I can come to is that the guilty drivers can’t read.
