WE pay 20p an hour to park in Coleford's council car parks on the understanding the money raised will maintain the spaces all the year round for people to visit the doctors and local shops as promised in the district council's manifesto.
This rule is followed by all other councils, eg Monmouth where all the recent snow and ice was cleared every day for people to pay safely.
At Coleford nothing happened. The car parks were turned into lethal skating rinks.
Drivers pay hundreds of pounds each year yet when they need to park safely the district council does nothing.
Surely, having paid all this money, we should expect the service promised.
What is the legal obligation in this matter, if there is a serious accident?
It seems the district council's policy is just Heath Robinson – they just don't care.
The Pyart Court car park was cleared by those responsible every time it snowed, thank goodness.
Cllr Molyneux and his cronies should resign. They have misled us and haven't a clue what they are doing.
