A CAT owner is warning other owners that she believes somebody deliberately poisoned her beloved pet with tuna.

The distressed Lydney lady, who didn't wish to be named, witnessed first hand her young cat, Jess, lose her fight for life last Sunday.

She said: "We took Jess in before Christmas and adored her straightaway - she was such a lovely cat. She popped out as normal last week roaming the neighbourhood and when she returned she was violently sick and struggled to walk. It was awful.

"It appeared she had eaten tuna chunks which I would never give her as I use proper cat food.

"All I can put her death down to was the fact that somebody had given her tuna chunks and in some way infected it which caused her to become suddenly ill. We couldn't do anything for her. We are devastated and wouldn't wish this on anybody else. I just want people to know that perhaps somebody is intentionally enticing cats to poison them."
