PIGS might fly...and here's one that looks as though it did!

There's no other possible explanation to the mystery of where this giant porker came from. He simply walked up the lane at Clanna, near Alvington, last week and made himself at home in a shed at the bottom of Charlie Edwards' garden.

"The gate was open and in he walked. I fed him some bread on the lawn and let him into a wood shed where he has settled down and made himself at home," said Mr Edwards.

"He's a big chap but very friendly. The snag is I don't want to turn him into sausages or bacon and we don't want pork for Christmas. I would simply like to reunite him with his owner," he said.

Mr Edwards has visited neighbouring farmers, none of whom lay claim to the animal.

"Did he make his escape because he had a date at the abattoir? We can only guess, but in the meantime and until his owner is found he's doing very nicely," said Charlie.
