GLOUCESTERSHIRE police have issued an appeal for information following three burglaries in Cinderford over last weekend.

A homeowner returned to their property in Westerley Close on Saturday evening to find that someone had gained entry to the address and had searched it, some time between 5.30pm and 10.50pm.

Two other houses in Furnaces Close were also burgled on the same night, some time between 7pm and 11pm. A search of both properties was made by the offender, with a window smashed on one home, and food taken from the other.

A police statement said that while inquiries are ongoing, they would like to speak with anyone who has information on the offences, but who hasn't yet come forward.

Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 570 of August 31.

•A Cinderford man has been arrested and charged on suspicion of burglary in connection with the incidents. The 26-year-old has been bailed, and is due to attend Gloucester police station on October 31, pending further inquiries.
