WELL done Amanda Watkins and others like her who are fighting to try to bring Cinderford back to life. Shame on those who seem intent on bringing Cinderford to its knees – it occurs to me that, most, if not all, seem to live outside Cinderford!
The conservationists I counted 24 people and a dog standing with their banner opposing the development of the Northern Quarter. Do they live in Cinderford? Do they need jobs? Cinderford has a population of 8,000 and our young people need hope for the future - they need jobs. The wildlife is just that – wild. There has to be a compromise. Leave Cinderford alone!
The lady who moved here nine years ago and is fed up with local people complaining about the boar and suggesting that people cause more damage by building houses and factories. Does she live in a tent? Does she need to look for work? How would she feel if they devastated her garden? Has she been to New Fancy lately? The boar need to be culled, they have no natural predators.
They are dangerous and there may come a time when tourists will be put off coming to our beautiful forest.
Cinderford residents are fed up with others trying to tell us what to do. We need another supermarket. We need the Northern Quarter scheme and we need to cull the boar before they get out of control. Our recently elected representatives know what we need and what we want so leave us alone.
– S Smith, Cinderford.
