THE residents of Overmonnow are being invited to undertake a pre-Christmas house clearance and pick up a bargain at the same time.

They can bring unwanted household items to a swopshop event organised by Monmouthshire County Council at the Bridges Community Centre Car Park. 

The event will be held on Monday, November 26 from 10am to 4pm as part of the Welsh Government's Tidy Towns initiative, and the council's intention is to help people recycle and reuse as much as possible. 

Participation is totally free and any items other than electrical goods may be offered provided they are non-hazardous and in reasonably good condition.  All residents are welcome to attend whether they bring anything or not.
