I AM not one to complain but I feel that situations like closing Whitecross School, Lydney, Tuesday, February 10, was the best decision to make, so well done to acting head teacher!
As witnessed by myself on Tuesday the road conditions were treacherous in Lydney, so goodness knows what they were like elsewhere in the Forest. When walking my children to school on Tuesday cars were sliding everywhere as well as parents and children. We were all at risk and an accident was just waiting to happen.
No way would I have put any child of mine on a bus in the Forest on Tuesday. What would these parents say if their child was injured because of a situation like this or even if they slipped over at school and broke an arm or leg? It would all then be a different story.
So once again well done for making a great decision, and enjoy your children and the bad weather, which we don't get very often. Just look at their faces when they play in the snow (centre pages of the Review last week). – A concerned parent.
