SOME £150 raised at this year’s very successful Big Lunch in Newent has been presented to the Newent Dolphin Club.

Voice of Newent Group made the donation at a recent meeting in the George Hotel after hosting the event on June 5.

The Dolphin Club is a youth club for adults and teenagers with a learning disability which meets most Tuesday evenings at Newent Community Centre from 7pm to 9pm and engages in activities such as crafts, indoor games, skittles, cooking and many others.

Cathie Jones Blick, representing the Dolphin Club, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the Voice of Newent and the community for supporting Newent Dolphin Club. The money is very much appreciated by our members. It will go towards the 2017 holiday for the club.”
